Any tips for writing with a feather quill pen ?

  • I own a feather quill pen and Dragon's Blood ink, and the ink is a little thin, and it doesn't stay on the pen to write with it. I know you have to constantly dip the pen into the ink, but it just won't hold up.

    Am I doing something wrong ? Do I have to let the ink sit for a little while to "thicken" so I can write with it ? None of these items came with instructions, and were purchased in a New Age Pagan Store.

    P.S. : Please don't tell me to do a Google search for it, because I did. Thank you for any and all help ! :)


  • If it's a powdered ink mix just mix it a little thick, or look for ink recipes on the web or try to find ink for fountain pens. I have used a quill for writing in the past, and have used a homemade ink/dye make from pokeberries. it's a really cool purple color.
